There isn’t a single person out there who likes having acne. Most of us spend quite a lot of time and effort fighting against breakouts. The amount of money spent on skin products that are supposed to keep us acne free will astound you. Sadly, for many people, acne issues are not limited to the years spent in puberty. Unfortunately, acne and breakouts are just something that many people face all of their lives. If you are tired of dealing with pimples and bad skin, here are some things you can try to help clear things up.

Clean Beddings

You need to keep your sheets, blankets, and especially your pillowcases as clean as possible. Keeping the bedding and linens clean is not something that some people find all that important. If you suffer from acne problems, you cannot be one of these people. It is especially important that you keep your pillowcases as clean as possible. This will ensure that dust and other pore cloggers have a hard time getting into your face while you sleep. Wearing dirty clothing or pajamas is not a good idea. A breakout can be caused by something as seemingly safe as wearing a day old t-shirt or night shirt.

Natural Products

Your makeup and other cosmetic items might be oil based. There are even some facial cleansers that have oil for their base. Oily pores are the reason you are taking steps to clean your face! It is important to take a moment to make sure there isn’t any oil in any of the cleansers, cosmetics or other beauty products you think about buying. The easiest way to do this is to choose powder based beauty products instead of those with liquid bases. When you purchase a facial cleanser, choose one that is not lotion-y and is more liquid than solid. Practice your common sense and you’ll be fine!

Sun Protection

You should keep your skin away from the sun. Smearing heavy sunscreen on your skin probably seems like a bad idea, especially for people who do not want to clog their pores. Choosing an oil free sunscreen is the way to combat this.

Gone are the days of only having heavy and oily sunscreen lotions to choose from. You now are able to choose a sunscreen that is lighter and sprayed on, which is better for your pores. Even better, many facial moisturizers and cosmetic products already contain sunscreen so you don’t have to worry about purchasing more products. An important fact to keep in mind is that tanning does not prevent you from getting zits, it only helps you get skin cancer.

It is not that hard to fight against acne and keep your skin clean. Some manage to get by with just a quick washing routine a couple of times a day. Some people will have to use stronger products on their skin to keep it clean. There are also people who choose to fight acne with diet and exercise. Be patient and explore your options–there is no universal acne cure. The trick is to keep at something for a while.

It will take time for acne fighters to really work, so stick with each thing you try for at least a couple of weeks before you give up and go on to something else.
